LinkedIn to Ruby

LinkedIn

Is posting on LinkedIn useful for finding jobs?

I did eventually get an offer via LinkedIn message, so maybe.

Zoom

Why don’t mobile browsers fit content into the visible area on zoom? (Except Opera for Android.)

Python

Will Python’s newish policy of many small compatibility breaks kill it? Ruby seemed to be taking off around 2010, had a similar attitude to backward-compatibility, and is now practically extinct. If Python will survive the next 15 years, is it because the industry is different, or Python is different, or do I misattribute Ruby’s demise?

Swift has been doing similar things for several years now but survives because there’s a huge incentive to dealing with it (iOS apps make money). Python is likely going to survive because it’s the default language of AI. As long as that continues I guess it’s pretty safe. React similarly is always doing annoying things but seems to survive perhaps in part because any React project generates a lot of dumb maintenance makework.

TL

Ruby

After posting yesterday about the demise of Ruby, I just saw a few job listings from startups asking for Rails experience. Is Rails cool again, like record players and film cameras?
